Jake, Christine (Marriage - 27 April1974)

Marriage vows were exchanged Saturday, April 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church by Miss Christine Jake and Milton Kahl. The Rev. Charles D. Brady officiated at the 3 p.m. double-ring ceremony. The couple greeted guests later at a reception at the Wildcat Inn.

The bride, presented in marriage by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Jake of Neillsville. Mrs. and Mrs. Milton G. Kahl, Mauston are the groom’s parents.

The former Miss Jake appeared in a gown of polyester satin fashioned with Alencon lace bodice and sleeves and a flowing train. Her bouffant illusion veil was caught by a headpiece of lace and seed pearls. Pink rosebuds and white carnations formed her bouquet.

The bride’s cousin, Alice Beyer of Oshkosh, was her honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Lucy Johnson of Long Beach, N.Y., and Mary Jischke of Oshkosh, both sisters of the bride. Their gowns of pastel pink chiffon over pink taffeta were complimented by matching pink picture hats and bouquets of white daisies and pink carnations.

Mark Hines, La Crosse, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeffrey Kahl, brother of the groom, and Dennis Loescher of Mauston. Ushering duties were shared by Bill Johnson, Long Beach, N. Y., and James Jischke, Oshkosh. Mrs. Glenn Short was the organist.

The new Mrs. Kahl is a graduate of Neillsville High School. Her husband graduated from Mauston High School and from the La Crosse Technical Institute. Following a wedding trip to Denver, Co., they will make their home in Mauston where both are employed.
