Marden, Nora C. (15 October 1917 - 27 March 1974)

A Clark County native, Mrs. Nora C. Marden of Neillsville, died March 27 at the age of 56. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton, with the Rev. Richard Eggen officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Marden, the daughter of Herman and Amelia (Riedel) Krause, was born October 15, 1917, in Clark County and was educated at the Wild Rose School. She worked out as a young girl. Her marriage to Glenn Marden took place July 32, 1943, at Granton. The couple lived in Marshfield and in Oshkosh before moving to Neillsville about 1949. Mr. Marden preceded his wife in death in 1962. Mrs. Marden was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Rick Marden of Neillsville; three sisters: Mrs. Elmer (Olga) Northup and Mrs. Eva Grottke of Neillsville and Mrs. Clarence (Ella) Schnabel of Chili; and a brother, Paul Wagner of Neillsville.

Pallbearers were: Robert and Clarence Ratsch, Glenn Haines and David Bragg. The congregation sang “Jesus Lover of my Soul” and “Beautiful Savior”. Miss Lila Peterson was the organist.

Among those attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Duane Evanson and son of Wausau. Others from the Chili, Granton and Neillsville areas were also present.
