Underwood, Sharon (30 DEC 1967)

St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, was the scene of a December 30, 1967 wedding of Miss Sharon Underwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Underwood of Abbotsford, and Pat Schraufnagel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Schraufnagel of Colby.

The Rev. John Olson officiated at the 2:30 ceremony.

Miss Judy Schraufnagel, a cousin of the groom, was maid of honor, and the best man was Dennis Schraufnagel, a brother of the groom. The other attendants were Miss Carol Schraufnagel, a sister of the groom. Brigitte Bernt, a friend, and Duane Underwood and Virgil Underwood, brothers of the bride.

The bride chose a floor length princess style gown with lace inserts at the neckline and one the skirt, accented with pearls at the neckline. The gown was fashioned of nylon over taffeta, and featured a train with lace inserts. White orchids with pearls formed the headpiece, holding a fingertip veil.

She carried a cascade arrangement of red roses.

Her attendants all wore floor length empire style gowns, each with an avocado green brocade velvet top with a satin bow at the waist, and a lighter green crepe bottom. Matching green headpieces completed the ensembles, and they carried yellow carnations accent with yellow bows.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Trianon Ballroom, with a supper served to about 200 guests. Roger Allen and his orchestra provided music for a dance that evening.

The bride had been employed at Lond O'Lakes at Spencer, and the groom is an employee of Packaging Corporation of America at Colby.

A wedding trip is being planned for next summer. They are now making their home at Colby.

Guests attending came from Colby, Abbotsford, Westboro, Marshfield, Medford, Withee, Phillips, Milan, Stetsonville, Dorchester, Athens, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Janesville, Eau Claire and Minneapolis
