Williams, Verna M. (13 AUG 1914 – 10 OCT 2015)

Verna M. Williams, 101 of Marshfield died on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Golden Living Center Three Oaks in Marshfield.

Funerals will be 1:30pm Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home with Pastor Jacoba Koopert officiating. Committal rites will be held at Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitations will be from 12:30pm until time of services at the funeral home.

The former Verna Barr was born on August 13, 1914 in Humbird to the late Fred and Freda (Schneller) Barr and was educated there, graduating in 1933. She was employed at the Neillsville Bakery and the Farmers' Store in Neillsville.

She was married to Ellis Williams on August 11, 1958 in Decorah, Iowa. He passed away on July 15, 1993.

Verna was a member of United Church of Christ in Neillsville. She was a caring person for her husband, parents, friends and enjoyed her dogs, cats and a baby deer.

They lived in Humbird until 1973 then moved to Neillsville. In 1988, they moved to Marshfield. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville.

She is survived by Rosalie Williams of Farmington, IL along with 5 step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a step son Jack Williams.
