Poziombke, Thomas Charles (24 April 1946 - 11 September 2015)

Thomas Charles Poziombke, 69, passed away Sept. 11, 2015, at Tangle Lakes, AK. He was born April 24, 1946, in Neillsville. He moved to Anchorage in 1968.

Tom worked for northwest Airlines for 37 years and retired in 2005. He was a member of St. Benedict Parish. He enjoyed antique clock restoration, chainsaw log carving, playing the organ, painting, boating, fishing, cam0ping, snow machining and crossword puzzles.

Tom is survived by his wife, Rene Poziombke; daughter, Kelly Poziombke; son, Kevin Poziombke; granddaughter, Chloe Sanders; daughter-in-law, Janene Poziombke; brothers: Mike, Jerry and Pat Poziombke; sister, Cheryl Dumas; sisters-in-law, Bobbi, Sue and Teri Poziombke and brother-in-law, Mike.

Tom has the tenacity of a train engine but loved with a heart as big as the sky. Having climbed Mt. Denali in earlier years, he never lost that sense of adventure and was always up for a challenge, whether it be building a house or a lively debate. He infused those who surrounded him with a levity that was characteristic of the man he was, and one can honestly say that he never met a stranger.

Tom will be sincerely missed but memories of busting out windows during a lively rendition of the infamous Martin Hop, DJing a bus full of people in Hawaii or actually getting his granddaughter a hippopotamus for
Christmas will continue to bring laughter and love to all that knew him. A funeral Mass was held Friday. Sept. 18, 2015, at 1 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 8110 Jewel Lake Rd., Anchorage, AK. Visitation began at noon.

Arrangements were entrusted to Kehl’s Legacy Funeral Home, Anchorage, AK.
