Washburn (21 February 1974)

Robert Matuszak, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Matuszak, recently underwent back surgery in a Milwaukee hospital and is recovering satisfactorily, according to latest reports.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Feutz of Wisconsin Rapids spent Satruday with and were supper guests of his mother, Mrs. Chris Feutz.

Mrs. Bruce Spiegel accompanied her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Laufenberg of Alma Center, to Chippewa Falls Saturday, where they attended the wedding of her sister, Louise Laufenberg.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Gumz of Cedarburg spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kuhn. Mrs. Gumz is the former Mildred Kuhn.

Mr. and Mrs. Rob Mortenson and family, and Kathy Steponik, spent the weekend in West Bend visiting their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ron (Buck) Wren, and family, and helped their little son, Shawn celebrate his first birthday. Mrs. Harry Hansen, who has been staying with the Mortenson family, is spending several days with another son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Prock, in Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kuhn have been taking care of their 10-month-old grandson, Paul Groskreutz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Groskreutz, Sr., of Oshkosh for several weeks while his parents are on a trip through Texas, Mexico and other southwestern states. They also visited her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Hallie Schultz of Omro, at Phoenix, Ariz., who are spending the rest of the winter there. Mrs. Groskreutz is the former Judy Kuhn.

Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart attended a meeting in Eau Claire Wednesday.

Harry Carstenson and George Ziglinski drove to Tomah Thursday, where they visited the latter’s brother, Ernest Ziglinski, who has been a patient at the Veteran’s Hospital since last fall.

David Austin visited friends in Eau Claire Thursday night and Friday.

Mrs. Claude Kyle called Tuesday at the Ralph Short home.

Mr and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer and Mrs. Neil Meddaugh attended the senior citizens meeting in Granton Tuesday night.

Mr. and Mrs. William Matuszak visited his brother, Stanley, and Mrs. Frank Short, at Memorial Home Tuesday.

Judy Reinart called Monday evening at the Ralph Short home.
