The annual Mother-Daughter banquet was held Saturday evening, May 9, 1970, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ, Route 2, Greenwood.

Following the singing of the Doxology by the group, and a table prayer by Mrs. Mary Lou Logue, the men and boys of the church served the meal to about 150 ladies. Immediately following the meal, a songfest was held, followed by a Tribute to Mothers by Esther Henaman, and a Tribute to Daughters by Mrs. Vern Henaman. Other numbers on the program included a coronet duet by Charlene and Betty Fravert, a poem, "Grandma," by Debbie Liebzeit, a solo, "That Wonderful Mother of Mine," by Candyce Horn, a reading, "Shine," by Janet and Joyce Henaman, and "Mother's Evening Song," sung by the Larsen sisters.

The theme for the evening's program was "A Pattern for living," presented by Mrs. Clarence Meinhardt, comparing a mother's task of raising her daughter with different parts of a dress pattern, with appropriate Scripture verses for each part. Mrs. Henry Vollrath, who acted as Mistress of Ceremonies, presented the following awards: The honor of being the oldest grandmother present was shared by three ladies, namely, Mrs. Sarah Buchholz, Loyal, Mrs. Clara Liebzeit, and Mrs. Ida Horn; the mother with the youngest baby, Mrs. George Zuehlke Jr., Loyal; the youngest mother, Mrs. Phillip Vollrath Jr., Owen; the mother with the most daughters, Mrs. Verlan Noah, Thorp; and Mrs. LeRoy Fravert; the grandmother with the most granddaughters, Mrs. Emil Noah; the guests attending from the greatest distance, Mrs. Robert Timmler and Mrs. Victor Irvine, both coming from Milwaukee; and the youngest grandmothers present, Mrs. Clayton Braun and Mrs. Harold Dillenbeck. Carnations were also presented to the eighth grade, high school and college graduates who were present. The program closed with the benediction being given by Mrs. Mary Lou Logue.
