Anding, Annabelle Louise (12 December 1924 - 31 August 2015)

Annabelle Louise Anding, 90, of Neillsville died Aug. 31, 2015.

Annabelle Louise Anding (Garbusch) was born Dec. 12, 1924, to Gladys Garbusch (Genett) and Alfred Garbusch in Neillsville. Her parents purchased a farmstead in the country where she resided most of her life. She attended St. John’s Lutheran School, a country school and also the Neillsville High School.

She married George Henry Anding Nov. 22, 1942 at Fort McCoy, where he was stationed. Upon his discharge from the Army they returned to Neillsville to the home in which she grew up. As she was an only child, she desired a big family so no one would be lonely growing up like she was. She raised 15 children, 12 of them on her own once her husband left the family. This was a challenging and tough job but the most rewarding task in her life. She was an amazing woman, and she did a great job.

She had various jobs, working for Sunburst Youth Home, Nelson Muffler briefly, Neillsville Public School, First Financial Bank and Memorial Medical Center, which she retired from in June 1991 after 12 years of service. But her biggest and proudest job of all was taking care of and raising her children. She also did childcare for her grandchildren. She was also a wonderful cook. She enjoyed making big holiday meals for the family and the family always looked forward to those days.

For the last three years, she resided at the Neillsville Retirement Community and was thankful for the care she received.

Proceeding Annabelle in death were her parents, Gladys Irene Garbusch (Genett) and Alfred Paul Garbusch; George Henry Anding; and a stillborn child.

Surviving children include: Georgiann (William) Howard, Granton; Daryl Anding, Milwaukee; Marilyn (Mike) Durand, Burnsville, MN; Doug (Renee) Anding, Marshfield; David (Donna) Anding, Greenwood; Linda (Greg) Foster, Neillsville; Curtis (Chris) Anding, Granton; Craig Anding (Jennie), Crystal Lake, IL; Gordon (Barb) Anding, Granton; Gail (Rollin) Opelt, Neillsville; Gary (Christy) Anding, Neillsville; Blaine (Maricris) Anding, New Berlin; Brian Anding, Neillsville; Brenda Anding (Aaron), University Place, WA; Bradley (Stacy Anding, Eau Claire.
