Afkend, Clayton (30 JAN 1908 – 25 FEB 1970)

Clayton Afkend, 62, Abbotsford, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1970, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been admitted earlier in the day, after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, with the rev. F.H. Sprengler, pastor, officiating.

Clayton received his education in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) schools, and was employed in general stores in the city before going to Abbotsford in 1948 to begin a grocery business.

Survivors include a sister, Miss Melva Afkend, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lester Johnson, both of Marshfield.
