Gutenberger, Sharon Kay (3 AUG 1968)

Miss Sharon Kay Gutenberger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Gutenberger of Colby, and David Joseph Treutel, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew T. Treutel of Marshfield, were united in Marriage Aug. 3, 1968 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Colby.

Rev. Pinion officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony, and the summer choir sang. The church was decorated with gladiolas.

The bride chose a floor-length skimmer gown with an A-line skirt of karate material. It featured three-quarter length sleeves and a stand-up collar. Venice lace trimmed the neckline, sleeve cuffs and hemline. A detachable mid-back chapel train with Venice lace trim on the bottom completed the dress. A cluster of daisies held the three-tier bouffant veil. She carried pink sweetheart roses, white stephanotis and greenery.

Miss Lynn Bender of Mosinee was the maid of honor and Penny Isleb of Milwaukee was the bridesmaid.

They each wore floor-length Karate gowns of avocado trimmed in Venice lace. The dresses featured empire waists and A-line skirts. The headpieces were boros with short circular veils.

The maid of honor carried a mixed bouquet of daisies and mums and the bridesmaid carried yellow daisies and mums.

James Jirschele of Milwaukee was the best man and Carl Ecke from Marshfield was the groomsman.

Robert Bender of Mosinee and Randy Pokallus of Marshfield performed the usher duties.

The reception was held at the home of the bride's parents and a buffet supper was held at St. Mary's gym at Colby. A wedding dance at the Sportsmen's Park at Colby ended the day's festivities.

The bride is a 1963 graduate of the Colby High School and WSU at Whitewater. She is employed at Colby High School as a teacher. The groom is a 1962 graduate of Columbus High School at Marshfield and is employed as a sales representative at Galvin Implement at Abbotsford.

Following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Michigan, the couple will make their home at Colby.
