Couillard, Della (22 JUN 1968)

Mr. and Mrs. Leo M. Leahy, who are presently residing in Appleton, will both be teaching in Rib Lake this fall.

Their marriage took place Saturday, June 22, 1968, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford.

The Rev. Emil Hodnik officiated at the 12:30 o'clock nuptial mass during which the former Della Couillard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Couillard, Gilman, exchanged marriage promises with Leo M. Leahy, son of Mrs. Della Leahy of Abbotsford, and the late Leo Leahy.

Music during the mass was provided by Mrs. Eunice Couillard, aunt of the bride, as a soloist, and Mrs. Dan Decker of Abbotsford, as organist.

For her wedding the bride wore a daisy lace cage styled dress with matching daisies encircling the hemline. The skimmer silhouette of lace flowed into a chapel train. A profile bridal headpiece framed her face in a drape of Venice daisies trimmed with imported crystals. She carried a bouquet of red roses and peppermint carnations framed with lilies of the valley.

Miss Patricia Leahy of Abbotsford, sister of the groom, and Charles Leahy of Darlington, nephew of the groom, were the honor attendants. Miss Donna Brenner of Cadott, the bride's cousin, was bridesmaid, Miss Cheryl Ann Couillard of Gilman, was junior bridesmaid. Duane Grube of Milwaukee, a friend of the groom, and James Miller Jr. of Sheldon, a nephew of the bride, completed the wedding party.

The bride's attendants were also attired in daisies entwined in petals held their matching bustle veils. Yellow roses and green carnations were combined in their bouquets.

Donald Dombroski of Gilman and Bill Bobbe of Abbotsford seated the guests, who came from California, Illinois, Minneapolis, Pelican Rapids, Jump River, Gilman, Sheldon, Ingram, Medford, Holcombe, Cornell, Thorp, Stanley, Cadott, New Richmond, Portage, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Appleton, Siren, Darlington, Shellsburg, Dorchester, Curtiss, Colby and Abbotsford.

After the ceremony, the new Mr. and Mrs. Leahy greeted about 250 guests at a wedding reception and wedding dance at Koolmo's Ballroom, Gilman.

The groom is a graduate of Abbotsford High School and Taylor County Teacher's College, Medford. His bride, a graduate of the Gilman High School and Taylor County Teacher's College, Medford, was teaching in the Gilman school district.
