The Colby High School graduates of the class of 1963 held their first five years reunion at the Colby Hotel Saturday evening, July 6, 1968, with cocktail hour at 7 and dinner at 8 p.m.

Miss Karen Kops, Chicago, mistress of ceremonies, welcome the guests, welcomed the guests, who were seated at table decorated with the class of colors of rose and silver streamers.

The class motto, "Climb though the rocks be rugged," was hung on the wall for the occasion.

The head table was decorated with a centerpiece of white candles and rose colored roses.

Mrs. Terry (Kathy Justman) Sukarla of Unity read the class will and Peter Weddig of Colby read the class prophecy.

A moment of silence in memoriam of classmate Herman Uhlig followed.

Each of the classmates then told of their occupations and place of residence.

Prizes were awarded to Karen Schjoneman, first reservation; Gerald Kluemke (faculty member), last reservation; Mrs. Wayne (Donna Kopecky) Hendrickson, Unity, the longest married; Richard Cole, most recently married; Mrs. Richard (Margo Schjoneman) Seefluth of Owen, the most children; Douglas Koffarnus, father of the youngest child; Larry Weix, coming the farthest distance; Herbert Sterzinger, gaining the most weight, and Lawrence Sterzinger, losing the most hair.

Martin Haavisto, guests of honor for the occasion, gave a short speech and was presented a gift of appreciation by the class. Mr. Haavisto and his wife, along with Gerald Kluemke, now of St. Cloud, Minn., were the faculty members seated at the head table with the class officers, Mrs. Richard (Margo Schjoneman) Seefluth, Mrs. Wayne (Donna Kopeck) Hendrickson, and Karen Kops, Sharon Gutenberger, and Judy Miller.

Letters from absent classmates were read by Mrs. Seefluth and Mrs. Hendrickson. The evening was spent in reminiscing.

The classmates have decided to reunite in another five years.

On the committee for the five year reunion were Mrs. Wayne Hendrickson, Mrs. Richard Seefluth, Sharon Gutenberger and Judy Miller.
