Andrew, Lloyd J. (12 AUG 1931 - 17 JUL 2015)

Lloyd J. Andrew, age 83, peacefully passed away at his home in Cassville, surrounded by his family on Friday, July 17, 2015 after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer.

He was born on August 12, 1931 in Colby, Wisconsin to Leo Andrew and Cunigunda (Seubert) Andrew. Lloyd was raised on a 160 acre dairy farm until the Army drafted him to serve his country during the Korean War wherein he was honorably discharged early on as he was needed back home to run the family farm. As a young man, Lloyd was a terrific softball player and played in several competitive leagues.

On February 7, 1959, Lloyd married Donna Rae Loucks. Together, they had six children. In 1963 Lloyd left work on the dairy farm and moved to Sugar Grove, IL to work with his brother-in-law as a lift truck mechanic. Then, at age 53 he moved his family to Lerna, IL and successfully started his own small engine business. In 1992 he helped his wife, Donna, start Dave’s Pizza and later they sold the pizzeria in 2004 and moved to Cassville, WI. Lloyd loved to hunt and fish. The Mississippi river was his joy! He was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers.

Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Donna; children, Linda (Jim), Cathy (Tyler), Tom, Judy (Randy), Janet (Steve) and Louie (Katie); 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 205 S. 2nd Street, Colby, WI 54421, 715-223-3048. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lloyd’s name to Grant County Hospice, 111 S Jefferson St., Lancaster, WI 53813. The Melby Funeral & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family.
