Stewart, Suzanne Marie (Marriage - 1 December 1973)

Marriage vows were repeated Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood, by Miss Suzanne Marie Stewart and Den Randall Johnson. Officiating at the 6:30 p.m. ceremony was the Rev. Leander Koopman. A reception was held at Bali Hai supper club later that evening.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Rita L. Stewart of Greenwood, with home she lived, and Glenn Stewart of Eau Claire. Mr. and Mrs. Delmon Johnson, Rt. 1 Greenwood, are the groom’s parents.

A bridal gown of ivory chiffon over taffeta, styled with a gathered skirt flowing into a chapel train, was chosen by the former Miss Stewart. Venise lace and seed pearls accented the yoke and neckline of the gown. Reembroidered lace formed its bodice and sleeve cuffs, and enhanced a short Camelot veil. She carried a nosegay of mint green carnations, red roses, purple baby’s breath and yellow daisies as she was presented in marriage by her parents.

Mrs. Mary Fleton of Sycamore, Il., sister of the bride, was her honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Maureen Hughes, Marshfield, and Mrs. Virginia Hribar, Greenwood. Their dark green gowns with mint lace neckline trim were complimented by mint carnation nosegays with lavender baby’s breath.

The groom’s brother, John Johnson, Greenwood, served as bestman. Steven Steiger, Highland Park, Il., and Andrew Rueth, Neillsville, acted as groomsmen. Ushering duties were shared by James Stewart, Marshfield, and Michael Johnson, Greenwood.

Corinne Stewart was the soloist and Mrs. Sue Volovsek, the organist and guitarist.

The newlyweds are both graduates of Greenwood High School. The groom also graduated from the Oshkosh Vocational and Technical Institute’s conservation course. He is employed by a Spencer firm. The bride is a neuropsychological tester at the Marshfield Clinic. They will make their home on Rt. 1 Greenwood.
