Pleasant Ridge (17 Oct 1918)

Last Week
Mrs. Emil Jahr left last Friday for Antigo where she will spend the winter with her daughter, Myra, who is teaching at that place.

Mrs. Blackman is slowly on the gain.

Mrs. Oscar Counsell called on Mrs. Blackman last Friday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Huckstead are away on a week’s visit with her folks.

Mrs. Bert Huckstead is out on the farm again for a short time while her son is away and Ralph Blackman is doing the chores and farm work.

Fred Kier is filling silo this week.

Mrs. George Wilding was seen on Monday.

This Week
Little Elsa Selves is quite sick. She is a very sickly child.

Mrs. Ray King and children and Mrs. Fred Darling and little son Earl spent Sunday with their father, Will King.

Mrs. Fred Vine called on Mrs. Jim King Sunday.

Charlie Hall has ordered a phone put in.

Mr. Scheeler is helping Chas. Hall build his new home.

Miss Merwin Hiles and Mrs. Geo. Vine called on Mrs. Fred Vine last Wednesday afternoon.

It is reported that Harold Huckstead is quite sick with Spanish influenza in the southern part of the state, where they went on a visit. We all hope he will soon recover and be able to come home.

George Vine has finished his railroad job.
