Schmidt, Robert (12 AUG 1942 – 5 FEB 1968)

Robert Schmidt, 25, passed away at Rochester Hospital, Rochester, Minn., on Monday , Feb. 5th, 1968 (Gravestone says died Feb. 4th).

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 7th, ten a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thorp, with Father Mullet officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Robert G. Schmidt passed away at the Rochester Methodist Hospital at Rochester, Minn. on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. of complications following surgery.

Robert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray W. Schmidt, was born Aug. 12, 1942 at Stanley. He attended St. Bernard's Catholic School and graduated from Thorp High School with the class of 1960. He graduated from the Wis. State University at Eau Claire with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. He taught at the New Richmond High School and at the Thorp Public school system. Prior to his death he was employed as a data anaylyst for Computing and Software Inc. at Holloman Air Force Base at Alamogordo, N.M.

He is survived by his parents and three sisters, Janice of St. Paul, Minn., Ardis and Lois at home. One brother, Roger, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 7th at 10 o'clock from St. Bernard's Catholic Church, with Father Mulert officiating. Interment was at the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Philip Mattes Jr., Marv Verkuilen, Clarence Turenne, Ray, Zebro, Rich Boie and Gary Bandor
