The Owen High School class of 1951 held its 15th year reunion, Saturday, July
30, 1966, with sixteen attending.
The program started with a tour through the new high school in the afternoon.
Many of the classmates with their husband and wives and children enjoyed the
tour. It was mentioned that "This was quite a change from the old school." Jim
Ferries was an excellent tour guide.
In the evening the members met at 7 for a social hour at the Country Club. We
then enjoyed a fine dinner of prime rib of beef.
Janice Lindekugel (Alexander) gave the invocation. Paul Bladl, class president,
was master of ceremonies. Dick Laube gave the welcome to the former classmates
and guests.
The faculty members present were introduced and asked to reminisce of their
memories of classmates. Albert Schulze, class advisor and music instructor;
James Ferris, agriculture instructor, and Theodore Kafka, chemistry and biology
instructor, were present.
The class emmbers were then asked to give a short resume of the last 5 to 15
years.
Annett Lucker (Waryen) then awarded various gifts to members of the class. Wm.
Kovatch received an award for having lost the most hair. Marvin German for the
most children, Carol Schumacher (Erickson) for the youngest baby, Alan Burhop
for a bachelor with no pictures of girls in his billfold., Paul Bladl for having
the most education of those present, Virginia Schulz (Smith) for having lived in
the most states. Janice Lindekugel (Alexander) received the door prize.
The members then enjoyed music by Lenny and Paul; we then adjourned to Dick and
Harriet Laube's and everyone had a ball.

Pal Bladl Jr., Mavin German, Francis Hansen (Onemus), Ely Klessig, Wm. Kovatch,
Dick Laube (Plummer), Dale Lindekugel (Alexander), Ray Lucker (Warlch), Bruno
Parnewicz (Sapetta), Larry Petruzates (Bragstad), Don Schulz (Smith, Don
Schumacher (Erickson), Ed Sluzewski (Clark) and Allan Gajewsky; also Mr. Alan
Burhop and Mr. Maurice O'Konski.
