Sladich, Alvin (16 February - 5 November 1973)

Alvin Sladich, 61, died Monday after heart surgery at Monessen, Pa. Funeral services were held Thursday from St. Mary’s Catholic Church there. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. Six of his nephews were pallbearers.

Mr. Sladich was born February 16, 1912, at Wickhoen, Pa. Later he moved onto a farm near Greenwood with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sladich. He was in the Navy during World War II. He worked in 1941 in Pittsburgh’s steel mills. He was married to Caroline Gorsk, who died a year later.

After four years he was remarried, to Helen Mich who survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Barbara, and two step-sons: three brothers, Rudy of Willard and Ignatus of Greenwood, and Philip of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Blatnik of Fayette, Pa.

Ignatus and Rudy attended the funeral.
