A Memorial Day program will be held on Monday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Curtiss Village Park. Rev. Roger Tellock will be the speaker and the Abbotsford High School band and the American Legion Post of Owen will take part in the program.

Mr. and Mrs. John Erickson and daughters of St. Cloud, Minn., arrived here last weekend and visited several days at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Erickson.

Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Long Sr. visited several days last week at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Meyers, Racine, and at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. George Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Long Jr. and family at Manitowoc.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Niemi of Minneapolis, Minn. were Saturday guests at the home of John Pukkila.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Devereaux and family of Abbotsford were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Witt Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Augustine and daughters and her mother, Mrs. Helen Luedtke, visited relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Borchardt of Little Chicago on Sunday afternoon.

Ruth Meske, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Meske and a student at Abbotsford High School, received the second annual Knaack Thompson VFW Good Citizen award. She was selected by the high school faculty.

Fourteen Boy Scouts of the Curtiss troop, David Tellock, Allen Olson, Bruce and Billy Goessel, Jeff and Bill Baxter, Jim and Mike Jakel, John and David Borgemoen, Tom , David and Ronald Frane, Joseph Tauchen and their scout master, Peter Johnson, assisted by Walter Degnitz, went to Camp Mawtkawa, Girl Scouts of America Camp, on Friday afternoon and Saturday. They did conservation and maintenance work as a good turn to the Girl Scouts. They did brushing trails, checking erosion and cutting brush, planting trees and cutting firewood and road work. Some of the boys returned Saturday evening and the others returned with their leaders Sunday afternoon.
