Zimmerman, Marlin (4 JUN 1936 – 26 MAY 2015)

Marlin Zimmerman, of Unity, Wisconsin, was born on June 4, 1936 and died on May 26, 2015 at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 22 days. Marlin died in peace, surrounded by family, at his home at W1228 Kington Road.

Marlin lived in Pennsylvania from his birth until 1960, when he moved with his growing family to McBride, British Columbia, Canada. In 1976, Marlin, with his wife Joanne, and ten children moved to the Unity area, in support of the Unity Mennonite Church, of which he was a member until his death.

Marlin is survived by his wife; Joanne, as well as five sons and five daughters, together with their spouses: Dorcas (Don) Brandt of Tolstoi, MB, Canada, Susan (Dwight) Troyer of Unity, WI, Ellen (Larry) Beachy of Dominican Republic, Nathan (Leanna) Zimmerman of Belen, NM, Margaret (Paul) Martin of Two Rivers, WI, Robert (Mabel) Zimmerman of Unity, WI, Phyllis (Norman) Reinford of Red Granite, WI, Gerald (Ramona) Zimmerman of San Andreas, CA, Donald (Miriam) Zimmerman of Unity, WI and John (Marian) Zimmerman of Wautoma, WI, 89 grandchildren and 84 great-grandchildren, four sisters and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Laban and Emma (Longenecker) Zimmerman, one sister, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Marlin lived out his love for the Lord in such a way that he left a spiritual heritage of godly living for any who would choose to follow his example. He loved others and will continue to be cherished in heart by many, near and far.

Visitation for Marlin will be at Saint John's Lutheran Church, on highway 13, north of Spencer, WI, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Funeral Services will on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Unity Mennonite Church, Unity, WI.
