Arne Schwellenbach of Eau Claire and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Schwellenbach, Roger, Marilyn and Kathy of Durand spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. William Schwellenbach in observance of Mrs. Schwellenbach’s upcoming 80th birthday.

Miss Rosemary Burr entertained the Tana-Swishaga eight grade Camp Fire Girl group at a Halloween costume party at her home at 117 West 10th St. Saturday evening from 7 to 10 p.m. Games were played and lunch was served.

Guests at a potluck meal Monday evening at the A. F. Minge residence on Rt. 1 were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Rhodes of Marshfield, Mrs. Ronald Halverson and daughter, Pam and Mrs. Lavern Zschernitz of Stanley, Mrs. Pat Plunkett of Chippewa Falls and Albert Marg and Ruth Winters.

Mr. and Mrs. Al Vandeberg have returned home from a visit with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Eide, in Columbus, Ms., where they toured many places of interest in the area. Of special interest was the Waverly Plantation. Enroute home, they toured Lincoln Land in Illinois.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tichy of Mundelein, Il., and Mrs. Ann Piotrowski visited at the Frederick Grap, Jr., home Thursday afternoon and were supper guests there.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Hagen and son Troy, called at the Carl Rothenburger home last Sunday.

Overnight guests at the home of Ann Piotrowski recently were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tichy of Mundelein, Il., Charles Tichy, Jr., of Mr. Holly, N.J., and Sherri Ann Grap of Rt. 3 Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mitte and family of Manitowoc spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Clara Mitte, and with her mother, Mrs. Gus Carl. They also visited other relatives and friends in the area.

Mrs. Ronald Weister and family of Marshfield were Friday evening supper guests at the Albert Marks home. Mrs. Weister is their niece.

Mr and Mrs. Henry Schaefer of Milwaukee visited at the Carl Rothenburger home last week, and Mr. and Mrs. Jon Karnitz and son, Chad of Wisconsin Rapids visited from Thursday morning until Saturday with his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Karnitz, and with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rothenburger.

New to the Neillsville area this summer is the Jim Fennessy family of Rt. 1 Neillsville. Jim is a graduate of the New York State College of Forestry at Syracuse University and is employed at Weyerhaeuser Company. He and his wife, Joan, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., have six children: Cathy, 14, Maureen, 13, Jimmy, 11, Patrick, 9, Mary Ellen, 7, and Michael-John, 1. They report Neillsville is ‘a nice place to raise a family.’

Mrs. Ann Piotrowski spent the weekend at Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sojka’s farm home near Pittsville.

Mrs. Norma Marg has been a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls for the last couple weeks and will continue to be hospitalized there for a couple more weeks. Friends may write her in care of the hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maegdefessel spent the weekend of the 20th and 21st at Alma where they visited Mrs. Flora Miller and her son, Milan, at rural Alma. Sunday, the Maegdefessels and the Millers toured the countryside on the Wisconsin bank of the Mississippi as far as Red Wing, Mn, where they crossed the river and drove back again along the Minnesota side. The Maegdefessels returned home last Monday.

Bertha Holt called on Ann Piotrowski Sunday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Marks spent a recent weekend in Princeton, Mn, and other nearby communities and attended a family reunion there.
