NHS Valedictorian (Alexander Mohr - 2015)

Neillsville High School has announced the Class of 2015 Valedictorian and Salutatorian.

Alexander Mohr is the valedictorian. He has earned an Academic Letter three times and has upheld a grade-point average of 4.0 for every semester of high school.

Mohr has participated and held leadership positions in a number of co-curricular activities, including track and field, student council (president and vice president), class officer (president and vice president), Spanish Club (vice president), band and yearbook.

Mohr has been inducted into Spanish Honor Society and National Honor Society. He has also been named as a Junior Kiwanian of the Month.

Community service has been high priority for Mohr. His involvement includes altar server at St. Mary’s Church, 4-H club (secretary), Neillsville Improvement Corporation, volunteer at Optimist Club Christmas Party, playing “Taps” for Fourth of July service at The Highground, playing music at the Memorial Medical Center Tree Lighting and Christmas programs, serving food and busing tables at luncheons at St. Mary’s Church and steak feed benefits at Neillsville Country Club, and helping at Vacation Bible School at St. Mary’s Church.

Mohr has worked as a clerk at Sniteman Pharmacy for the past two years. He plans to continue his employment there through the summer, until he moves away to college.

He will be attending UW-Madison this fall. He has wanted to be a graphic designer throughout his life, but he currently plans to make his way to pharmacy school and receive a pharm. D degree.

“I’ll probably change my mind a few more times before I settle on one major,” said.

Mohr is the son of Allen and Debra Mohr.

The Neillsville High School Commencement Ceremony will be held in the Fieldhouse Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 2 p.m. Eighty-three members of the class of 2015 will receive their diplomas.

Principal Craig Anderson Ruskin will introduce the graduates. He will present diplomas along with Neillsville School Board President Dewey Poeschel.

The class flower is Peruvian Lily. Class colors are red and white.

During the ceremony 26 honor students will be recognized. The Concert Choir will perform “I Was Here.” The Senior Choir will perform “Anyway.”

The Neillsville High School Band will offer several selections.
