Mr. and Mrs. Louis Burhop received news that their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Switzky, left Monday on a vacation trip which flew them from Madison to Grand Bahama Island, where they will reside at Kings Inn Gulf Resort for one week.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bergstrom returned to the city a week ago Wednesday after vacationing at Phoenix, Ariz. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bergstrom left that Monday, returning for an extended vacation.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Madsen left today for Waupun, where they will remain for the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Richardson and family.

Recently Mr. and Mrs. Martin Carlson enjoyed having their children home for the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Johnson and son, Gary and Scott of St. Paul, Carol Madison and Craig of Wausau.

Bill Roberson of Milwaukee spent the weekend here visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Roberson.

John Lesneski, janitor at the Owen Grade School was admitted to Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley late Tuesday afternoon, when he became quite ill. First diagnosis is that he was suffering from a gall bladder ailment.

Kate Gardner came home Tuesday of last week from Stout University when she became ill and remained here over the weekend. She was sufficiently recovered to return to her studies on Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Feriers enjoyed the weekend visit paid them by their daughter, Sandra, who is a sophomore student at Wis. State University at River Falls.

Mrs. Hans Clausen was dismissed last week from St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield where she had been confined for better than two weeks.

Reports are that Mrs. Glen Tieman is making a satisfactory recovery from the surgery she underwent Tuesday at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

Mrs. Oliver Smithies of Madison visited here Sunday and Monday forenoon at the home of her brother, Clarence, and family and with Wm. Kitze in addition to attending the golden wedding anniversary observed by Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Mauel Sr.

Kenneth S. Agerter, director of admissions at Shattuck School, Faribault, Minn., will visit alumni and patrons of the school in Owen, Monday, Mar. 14.

Jim Utteck has been confined to his home by an illness the past week and will be out of school the remainder of this week, although his is now recuperating nicely.

Mrs. John Stock returned home Sunday from the hospital at Marshfield, after being there for three weeks for tests and surgery.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rinehart visited Monday evening with her brother and family in Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fischer, and with their son, Dennis, who arrived home Monday for a two week furlough from Missouri. He is enroute to Viet Nam.

Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Don Rinehart visited friends in Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Hungsberg.

Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Gerhardt spent Sunday visiting their son, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Gerhard, and family at Portage.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Steager left Saturday for the east, where he will be stationed in Rhode Island. Enroute they took the north route to Niagara Falls, and are enjoying sightseeing.
