Canfield, Elizabeth Grace "Beth" (25 December 1916 - 25 April 2015)

Elizabeth Canfield, 98, of Granton died Saturday April 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving family in the same home in the same bedroom that she was born in many years ago.

Elizabeth Grace Canfield was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Granton, the daughter of Frederick and Grace (Poole) Daniels. She was united in marriage to Robert Canfield in February of 1936. During World War II she worked in the egg plant in Marshfield, but for most of her life, she stayed at home and worked as a homemaker, raising her family.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, gardening and tending to her flowers. She has made hundreds upon hundreds of rugs made from baler twine for family and friends over the years.

She is survived by four children, Jeanette (Jerome) Kurth of Marshfield, Pauline (Ronald) Webster of Granton, Robert (Linda) Canfield of Marshfield and Stanley (Naree) Canfield of Granton. Elizabeth is also survived by 130 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a son Darwin; a daughter, Margaret; and five siblings, (Maurice Daniels in WWII and Christine Elmhorst, Dorothy Elmhorst, Marie Ratsch and Frederick Daniels).

A graveside service for Elizabeth was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the Windfall Cemetery in Granton, immediately after which a memorial service was held at the Granton Community Center. Pastor Jay Welshonse conducted both services.

Casket bearers were Vincent Canfield, David Kuehn, Mitchell Conner, Jae Webster, Steve Canfield, and Jon Canfield.

Online condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.  The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Elizabeth’s family with funeral arrangements.
