Telin, Maria (19 MAR 1885 – 8 NOV 1965)

Mrs. Solomon (Maria) Telin, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 11 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 1965, at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield. She had been hospitalized there for treatment of injuries sustained in an automobile accident that occurred on Oct. 22 at the Curtiss corners on Highway 29.

Her death is the 10th highway death recorded in Clark County this year.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home at two o’clock this afternoon (Thursday). Rev. Beryl Knudsen of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, will officiate, with burial to be made at Pine Hill Cemetery, Curtiss.

Toivo and Arvo Rysti, Eric Telin, Ervin Telin, C.E. Beck and Thorvald Ammentorp will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Telin, 80, was born March 19, 1885 in Finland. On Oct. 15, 1917 she was united to Solomon Telin in a service held at Vancouver, Wash. The couple came to the Owen area in 1918, settling on a farm in the town of Hoard, where they made their home until 1950 when they retired and moved to Owen.

She is survived by her husband, Solomon, Owen; five sons, Toivo Rysti, Waukegan, Ill.; Arvo Rysti, Albia, Iowa; Charles Telin, Menasha; and Eric Telin, Owen; three daughters, Mrs. Ed (Linda) Rady, Melrose Park, Ill.; Mrs. A. (Imbie) Sayles, San Mateo, Calif.; and Mrs. Ervin (Mamie) Zelm, Withee; and two brothers, John and Gust Kurasa of Woodlawn, Mich.
