Levin, Marilyn Joyce (4 SEP 1965)

Marilyn Joyce Levin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Levin of Arthur, Ia. became the bride of Kenneth A. Jascor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jascor of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), on Saturday, Sept. 4, 1965 at 4 o’clock in the Methodist Church in Arthur. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Herbert L. Bryant before a candlelight altar decorated with baskets of white gladioli and mums.

Miss Marianne Kitterman was organist and accompanied Jon Forsberg who sang “The Lord’s Prayer,” as the couple knelt at the altar.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a floor length gownof silk shantung and lace, fashioned with a train of lace. Her veil of silk illusion was fastened to a beaded band. Her gown and veil were designed and made by the bride. The bridal bouquet was centered with a white orchid, surrounded with white roses and ivy.

The bride’s attendants were her sisters. Miss Beverly Levin served as maid of honor and Miss Gloria Levin as bridesmaid. Their floor length gowns of silk shantung were fashioned in the same style as the bridal gown. Beverly wore moss green and Gloria wore turquoise, with matching hair bows. Each carried a large single bronze mum.

The groom’s attendants were friends. The best man was Leonard A. Bochhiem of Minneapolis, and the groomsman was James Potocnik of Owen. Ushers were Ron Caldwell of Minneapolis and Dean Van Auken of Mapleton, Iowa, cousins of the bride. The men in the wedding party wore dark business suits and white rose boutonnieres.

The bride’s mother was attired in navy shantung and the bridegroom’s mother in mint brocade. They each wore an orchid corsage.

The reception was held in the church parlors, with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Forsberg as dining room host and hostess. Mrs. John Roberts of Columbia, Mo. registered the guests. Gifts were received by Mary Susan Noll of Arthur and Thelma Raasch of Sioux City, Ia. They were displayed in the home. The decorated cake was made and cut by Mrs. Elna Lorenzen. Patty Haehner presided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Ed England at the silver coffee service. Other kitchen hostesses were Mrs. R.R. Edgar, Mrs. Ary Haefner, Mrs. Art Lindsay and Mrs. Marvin Lorenzen. Hostesses at the home were Mrs. William Noll and Mrs. A.S. Senter.

Corsages of bronze pompons were given to the helpers and to Mrs. Mary Caldwell of Ames, the bride’s step-grandmother and to Mrs. James Potocnik.

The bride is a graduate of the Odebolt-Arthur High School and is employed as a travel counselor at the AAA office in Minneapolis.

For traveling, the bride made a three piece suit of gold shantung and wore the white orchid of her bridal bouquet. After a wedding trip, the couple will be at home in Minneapolis.
