Thorson, Karen Ann (21 AUG 1965)

The Rev. H.L. Crubel performed a marriage ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 1965, when marriage vows were exchanged by Miss Karen Ann Thorson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thorson, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Larry Gene Dallman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dallman, Greenwood (Clark Co.).

The rites, held in Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Owen, took place before an altar decorated with white and pink gladioli. Mr. Thorson gave his daughter in marriage, and the sisters provided nuptial music for the occasion.

The floor length white bridal gown had a scalloped neckline on the Basque bodice of Chantilly. Lace trim accented the bouffant skirt of peau de soie and the removable train of peau de soie was edged with lace and was attached at the neckline with small bow trim.

The bouffant illusion veil was secured to a crown of pearlized orange blossoms. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of red garnette roses and white carnations.

Miss Dixie Lee Hintzman, Menomonie, the maid of honor, wore a street length dress made of blue brocade designed with fitted bodice and full skirt, and also a matching headpiece. She carried a cascade of white and yellow carnations.

Roger Lesneski, Madison, was best man. Ken Thorson, Eau Claire, and Allan Dallman, Greenwood, ushered.

Following the ceremony, a reception took place at the home of the groom’s parents with a supper and a dance that evening at the American Legion Hall in Owen.

The bride and groom are graduates of Owen-Withee High School, she in 1960 and he in 1961. She is employed by Will Implement and Gas Co., Owen, and he is an apprentice lineman for the Clark Electric Cooperative at Greenwood.

Greenwood will be the home of the newlyweds.

Among the guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Short, Mrs. Frank Wiernasz and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brown, Milwaukee; Mrs. Minnie Dohrman and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Albert, Horicon; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Steffen and Mr. and Mrs. Wilburt Hemersbach, Waukegan, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. William Dallman, Cochrane; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Groenke, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cizewski, Ingleside, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Irving Timmler, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Metcalf, Random Lake; Linus Hemersbach, Lincoln, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hemersbach, Waukegan, Ill.; Beverly Stabnow, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dallman, Baraboo; Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Dohrman, Beaver Dam; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Dallman, Madison; and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dallman, Brownsville.
