Christian S. Frost, a pioneer resident of the Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) community, died suddenly at his home early Saturday morning, Aug. 28, 1965, when he suffered a stroke. He was 79 years of age, being born March 16, 1886 in Denmark.

Rev. Beryl Knudsen officiated at the final rites conducted Tuesday, Aug. 31, from Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee. Mr. Frost’s remains were place in the family lot of the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Einar Larsen, Tracy Hansen, Karl Jensen, John Jalling, Allen Gajewski and Clifford Montag. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Andrew Olsen, Carl Andreasen, Alfred Frost, Chris Klay, Albert Jensen, Richard Nielsen, Sigurd Sorenson and Emil H. Hansen.

In charge of floral offerings were Mesdames Einar Larsen, Karl Jensen, John Jalling, Allen Gajewski and Clifford Montag.

Mr. Frost left his birthplace in Denmark in 1911, coming to the United States and first settling in Iowa. Two years later he came to this community and began farming in the town of Hixon. On Dec. 27, 1917 he was united in marriage to the former Jensine Pedersen of Ringsted, Iowa. The couple resided on his farm in the town of Hixon until their retirement in 1956, when they moved into the village of Withee.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Christian of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Thorvald of Withee; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Adia) Mehus, Richfield, Minn., and Mrs. Alfred (Anna) Laursen, of Canton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; a brother Jens, still living in Denmark; and two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Krista) Christensen and Mrs. Oscar (Tula Elisa) Nielsen, both still living in Denmark.
