Dahl, Joyce Irene (Marriage - 18 August 1973)

Miss Joyce Irene Dahl became the bride of Gary Arnold Sternitzky Saturday, August 18, in a 2 p.m. ceremony performed at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, by the Rev. Roland Roehrs. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Dahl, Sr., Rt. 1 Granton, are the bride’s parents. She was presented in marriage by her father. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sternitzky also of Rt. 1.

Red roses and baby’s breath formed the bridal bouquet and complimented an empire style gown of Dacron polyester sheer and Chantilly lace fashioned with a high neckline, long, puff sleeve and detachable chapel train. Sequined lace embellished both the gown and the train. Her veil was secured by a headpiece of venise lace and floral sprays.

The bridal attendants’ two-tone gowns, styled with white bodices and floral print skirts, were complimented by matching floral petal headpieces with small veils. Mrs. Milton Haskins, Berlin, matron of honor, and Mrs. Marvin Schlinsog and Mrs. Allen Sternitzky, Marshfield, bridesmaids, carried nosegays of carnations and baby’s breath to match their gowns.

Milton Haskins served as bestman. Groomsmen were Marvin Schlinsog and Allen Sternitzky. Alvin Dahl and Ernest Sternitzky shared ushering duties.

Acting as ringbearer was Jimmie Schlinsog, Marshfield. The Miniature bride, Tracy Marie Haskins, Berlin, was dressed identically to the bride.

‘My World’ and ‘We’ll Walk with God’ were sung by Mrs. Walter Helm and Mrs. Roger Helm. Mrs. Leland Garbisch was the organist.

Bali Hai supper club was chosen for the reception. The wedding cake was made and decorated by the groom’s mother.

The bride has been employed by a Granton accounting firm and the groom is engaged in farming. Following their return from a wedding trip through northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan, the newlyweds will live on Rt. 1 Granton.
