Schecklman, Edward Robert (5 December 1931 - 7 February 2015) With Flag

Edward R. Schecklman, 83, of Neillsville passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.

Edward Robert Schecklman was born Dec. 5, 1931, in the Town of York, Clark County, the son of Leo and Mary (Walter) Schecklman. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Town of York, graduating from Loyal High School in 1949. He was inducted into the U. S. Army Nov. 20, 1952, where he served during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge Sept. 11, 1954. Ed was united in marriage to June O. Genskow July 21, 1956, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton. He farmed in the Town of York and also operated his own TV repair shop. Ed also worked at O. W. Trindal Feed Mill in Loyal, Chili Implement, and was a partner at K & H Auto.

He had many interests but especially enjoyed watching sports, going to the casino and he loved animals. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Loyal American Legion Post #175.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, June, of Neillsville; four sons, Daniel (Lynn) of Marshfield, Todd (Maryann Tytor) of Greenwood, Peter (Angel) of Loyal and john of Neillsville; three daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Hoff of Marshfield, Sara Eilers (Jeff Lukes) of Loyal and Lori (Randy) Seliskar of Loyal; 11 grandchildren: Chad Braun, Heidi Braun, Travis Braun, Matt (Kim) Schecklman, Ryan (Kehly) Schecklman, Cody Schecklman, Marc Eilers, Amanda Eilers, Dylan Eilers, Paul Schecklman and Claire Schecklman; one step-grandson, Chris Seliskar; five great-grandchildren: Achilles, Alayna, Kade, Daelyn and Adalynn; four step-great-grandchildren: Kaleigh, Trevor, Ryder and Maecy; one granddaughter-in-law, Elicia Seliskar; three brothers, Tony Schecklman of Marshfield, Jim (Jackie) Schecklman of Neillsville, and Bob Schecklman of Henderson, NV; two sisters: Florien Muller of Latrobe, PA, and Rosalind Aumann of Butler; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Billy, Paul and Nicole Schecklman; one step-grandson, Dan Seliskar; and one brother, George Schecklman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Steve Brice will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post #175. Visitation will be held at the church, Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
