George Zimmerman left Saturday morning in his car for Chicago where he will spend several days at the R.C.U. convention.

F.D. Calway was at Madison the first of the week.

A.R. Mularky went to Milwaukee Monday on business.

Harry Hambright was here from Marshfield on Tuesday.

Misses Agnes and Lydia Brandt are visiting friends at Wausau.

Mrs. Frank Plummer of Lyon spent Sunday here with relatives.

Miss Clara Edwards of Bloomington is visiting Miss Flossie Leason.

Mrs. F.D. Calway went to Minneapolis Monday to spend a few days.

Mrs. John Vincent went to Beaver Dam on Friday to spend a short time.

Miss Marie Bruley went to Ladysmith Tuesday to spend several weeks.

Mrs. Ralph Rowe and baby of Fairchild are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Rowe.

Jesse Leason came home Friday from Camp Grant for a few days furlough.

Mrs. Wm. Knop of Winona is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hemp.

Mrs. Mead of Berkley, Cal., is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Root.

Miss Gladys Free and Mrs. T.V. Carlton visited with friends at Sheboygan last week.

Jesse Leason came home last Friday night on a four-day furlough from Camp Grant.

Mrs. Sybil Clark of Milwaukee is spending a short time with Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Marsh.

Mrs. John Skewis of Rock Rapids, Iowa, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Mary Neverman.

Miss Clara Heyder spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Art Simons at Humbird.

Arthur Ehlke, teacher in the German Lutheran schools, went to Oshkosh Monday to attend Normal.

Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Marthaler of Chicago are guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Kleckner.

Miss Flossie Leason is entertaining her college friend, Miss Clara Edwards, of Bloomington.

Emil Otto and family drove up from Dodge County Saturday in their car to visit Emil Winklerman and family.

Ira Morganson was quite badly burned last week at the Mularky garage while working on the acetylene welding machine.

Mr. and Mrs. Dell Potter drove up from Maceda in their car and are spending a few days with Dell’s mother, Mrs. Eva Potter.

Mrs. B.P. Churchill and daughter returned home to Milwaukee Saturday, accompanied by Theodore Brameld, who will visit them for a short time.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Anthony and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Salino of Madison returned home Monday after a brief visit at the home of L. Cardorelli.

Mrs. E.L. McIntyre and son returned home to Milwaukee Saturday evening after a three weeks’ visit with her mother, Mrs. Lillian Kennedy.

Word has been received from Lieut. James Jacques that he arrived safely in France and that he is connected with the Headquarters Dept. of the 134th Field Artillery.

Leo Redmond was here from Racine for a few days last week. He is a member of the Home Guards and had been in camp at Camp Douglas.

Geo. Crothers of this city, E.T. Hales of Humbird and John Huntzicker of Eaton, County School Board, were in the north end of the county Saturday on business.

Mrs. Will Tragsdorf and two children came Friday to spend a few weeks with Mrs. B. Tragsdorf. Will Tragsdorf is on his way home from the Panama Canal, also, but stopped off to spend a few days in New York.

Mrs. Ted Selves and Elgie Blackman went to Pine Bluff, Wyo., Monday to see Mrs. Mary Blackman, who has been sick there for some time and they expect to bring her home with them.

Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Rush and son, Robert, were at Fairchild Monday evening to attend Chautauqua, their niece, Miss Furlong, being a member of the musical company which entertained the audience on that day.

In last week’s Times mention was made of the auto accident in which Mrs. M.V. Ayers was injured. The Times stated that Mrs. Mary Ayers was one of the victims, whereas Mrs. M.V. Ayers was the lady hurt. It is understood that she was more seriously injured than first thought.

There will be sent from Neillsville a large number of select men August 26. The local board will have to furnish them with lodging on the night of August 25. If any persons wish to furnish lodging, please advise the chief clerk the number they will accommodate on or before 11 o’clock a.m. August 25.

Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Lowe returned last week from their visit at Waukeshau and Darlington. Mrs. G.W. Rass and son drove them up from Darlington in their car and on Tuesday Mrs. Rass and son went to Osseo to spend a few days and from there go to Menomonie and Minneapolis before returning home.

Rev. Brandt was at Rice Lake over Sunday.

Crandall’s restaurant will be closed until Sept. 1st.

Cyril Neverman went to Alma Center Tuesday to work.

B. Frankenburg also returned home to West Bend at the same time.

Mrs. MacFarland and Mrs. Miller of LaValle are visiting friends here.

Miss Beatrice MacMillan returned Saturday from her visit at Lima, Ohio.

Mrs. Henry Subke and children went to Westby last week for a visit.

Mrs. Anna Miller of Milwaukee is visiting her brothers, the Stelloh boys.

Mrs. A.C. Martin went to Minneapolis to visit with her sister Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. C. Krumrey went to New London Saturday to visit for a few days.

Gus. Klopf and Albert Raether came up from Milwaukee Saturday on business.

Mrs. Maxwell and daughter, Irene, went to Wonewoc last week to spend the summer.

Hugo Uhlman was here from Antiwa last week, leaving for the west on Saturday.

Miss Theressa Yndagliato left on Saturday to resume her work at Glendive, Mont.

A.H. Holverson has bought the Gotlieb Klopf property at the rear of Dangers’ store.

Orrin Mott of Tennessee has been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Phillips.

Mrs. Henry Naedler went to Madison Saturday to spend a couple days with her husband.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon O’Brien returned home to Rockford, Ill., Tuesday after a visit with relatives here.

Mrs. Hodgkins and Mrs. Havey of Fond du Lac are guests of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Bullard.

Quite a large number of Neillsville and vicinity people attended the Red Cross picnic on Sunday.

Mrs. M.L. Schultz of Milwaukee spent a few days last week with Henry Schultz and family.

Capt. H.W. Klopf spent Sunday with the 8th Regiment of Home Guards at Camp Douglas.

Mr. and Mrs. George Parkhill and Mrs. Hopkinson of Abbotsford drove here Tuesday in Mr. Parkhill’s car.

Mrs. Richard Anding of Altoona spent a couple days here last week with Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Gress.

Mrs. Edw. Korzelius and baby returned home to Waters Meet, Mich., Saturday, after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Kaudy.
