One of the best crowds in years turned out to honor the Greenwood High School athletes at their annual Athletic Banquet Wednesday evening in the Greenwood High School gym. Above 100 parents and sport fans were there to pay tribute to thses 1950-51 letter winners.

The program was opened by Elmer Johnson, president of the Greenwood Rotary, which sponsored the banquet. Dr. Welher acted as toastmaster for the program. Principal Clifton Fonstad welcomed the people on behalf of the school and spoke a few words of praise for the boys who were to receive letters. Coach Phil Thompson was then called upon to award the letters to the boys who had won them for participation in football and basketball this year, and the cheerleaders.

Twenty-seven boys won major letters for playing football or basketball; five manager letters and five cheerleader letters were also awarded.

The main speaker of the evening was Milt Bruhn, University of Wisconsin head line coach, who gave an interesting and entertaining talk on sports in general.
