Donald Kipp of Milwaukee is the house-guest of his cousin, Tim Potter.

Maj. Larry McKevitt was called home from Camp McCoy recently by the serious illness of his father, Lawrence McKevitt, St., who suffered a massive heart attack and is confined to Memorial Hospital. Other family members called to Neillsville by the illness were his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James McCaulley and son, Jim, of Wausau, and grandchildren, Randy McKevitt of Milwaukee and Reggie McKevitt, together with his then-fiancée, Miss Gail Johnson, of Madison. Others who came during the ensuing week were the Misses Kathleen and Mary Glover of Sparta, Mr. and Mrs. Howard McKevitt of Merrillan, Mr. and Mrs. John McKevitt of Black River Falls, Mrs. William Doescher of Altoona, Mrs. Leon Wheeler of Hatfield, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Owens of Eau Claire and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brown, who had been spending some time with their son and his family at Hudson.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Slaats attended a judicial reorganization meeting Thursday and Friday in Madison at the invitation of Gov. Lucey and Supreme Court Justice Hallows. Saturday, they attended the 10-year reunion of his graduating class at Cuba City and visited with relatives there.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Filitz’ granddaughter, Velvet is spending a vacation in Ladysmith with the Theron Nash family.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anding and Mrs. Elsie Gress called on Mrs. Violet Wiesner Sunday evening.

Mrs. John Mosby and Beth of West Chicago, Il., Mrs. Bernard Stelljes of Montgomery, N. Y., Mrs. Joseph West of Springfield, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. John Winn, Tom and Susie of Glencoe, Mn., planned to leave Neillsville Wednesday after a visit with their aunt, Miss Gladys Wage.

Mr. and Mrs. Ole Aspen visited Thursday at Three Lakes with Mr. and Mrs. Gruenke, former neighbors and operators of the Traveler’s Motel. The Aspens’ grandson, Kris Aspen of Mt. Prospect, Il., and Mr. Aspen’s sister, Mrs. David B. Martin of Chicago, Il., were expected to arrive at their home Wednesday for a visit.

Weekend visitors at the Gilbert Wren home were the Wren children and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schmidt and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wren and family of West Bend and Tom Wren of Waukesha. The Schmidts also visited with his mother, Mrs. Ella Schmidt, and the Ronald Wrens visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mortenson.

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Kieser, Doug and Brian and Mrs. Frank Zimmerman visited with Mr. and Mrs. G.G. Kieser and Mr. and Mrs. August Kieser in Abbotsford Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Kipp, Paula and Jerome of Milwaukee returned home Thursday after visiting with relatives in Neillsville and Marshfield.

Marilee Simenson is visiting with friends in Wisconsin Rapids.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marg and the Marvin Marg’s, spent Sunday at the Circus World Museum at Baraboo.

Mr and Mrs. Thomas Bobrofsky and son, Jay, spent the weekend visiting their parents. Friday evening was spent with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bobrofsky and Barb of Oconomowoc. The remainder of the weekend was spent in Oak Creek at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clauer, who just returned from a 16-day tour of Europe.

Mrs. Mel Mueller, Michelle and Christopher spent a three-day vacation recently with Mrs. Mueller’s girlfriend, Rosanne, who is a registered nurse in Waukesha. Mr. and Mrs. Mueller and Christopher left Sunday for Iowa, having received a phone call informing them that his mother, Mrs. Ralph Mueller, had sustained a severe heart attack and had been taken to the same hospital where Mrs. Mel Mueller took nurse’s training. At last report, her condition was reported stable, with no heart damage.

Mrs. Joy Barr and Kristi Lynn and Mrs. Mary Alice Locigno, Mark and Kelli were expected to arrive Tuesday evening from St. Louis and Illinois to spend two weeks’ vacation at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Christensen. Mrs. Barr teaches nursing in Illinois and Mrs. Locigno is on the medical floor at St. Louis Lutheran Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Klann and daughter of Glendale, Az., are spending the week with his parents Mr. and Mrs. August Klann.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schutte called on Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Durst in Osseo and on Mr. and Mrs. Don Schutte and family in Strum Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. George May returned Sunday from an eight-day visit with relatives in Madison.

Mrs. Joe Jeras of Lyons, Il., and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolaney visited last Wednesday at the Dale Schultz home.

Mr. and Mrs. Jon Swenson and son Craig of Westfield were to leave Tuesday after spending a week’s vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Swenson. Sunday, the Swenson’s drove to La Crosse from where they took a two-hour paddle-wheel steamer trip on the Mississippi.

Visitors at the Albert Smith home are their daughter and son-in-law and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Seaman, Kevin and Karen, of Kingsport, Tn. The Seaman’s, who arrived Saturday, plan to spend a week with her parents.

Dr. and Mrs. E.E. McCollum of Cazenovia visited with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maegdefessel Friday. The McCollums were enroute to Rhinelander to attend a wedding there. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Horehled of rural Neillsville were recent afternoon and supper guests at the Maegdefessel home, and Charles Meyer of Antioch, Il., spend four days with the Maegdefessels recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Voigt of Pica Rivers, Ca., have been spending a month in Neillsville visiting relatives and friends here.
