The Rev. Ronald J. Nordin, recently of Maddock, N.D., will be installed as pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church at the 9 a.m., worship service Sunday. The Rev. Norris Erdal of Wausau, executive assistant to the president of the Northern Wisconsin district of the American Lutheran Church, will conduct the service and the installation ceremony. A fellowship brunch will follow.
Rev. and Mrs. Nordin and their two sons, Kris and Karl, were expected to arrive in Neillsville Tuesday or Wednesday. At Calvary, Rev. Nordin will succeed the Rev. Daniel Litzer who accepted a call to Trinity Lutheran Church, Stevens Point.
Since Rev. Litzer’s departure in May, the Rev. Alden Moldenhauer of Wausau has served the congregation as interim pastor. Rev. Moldenhauer is a former pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal.
Rev. Nordin, a native of Willmar, Mn, graduated from Augsburg College, Minneapolis, in 1964 and from Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, in 1969. He was ordained at his home congregation, Grace Lutheran, Lake Lillian, Mn., on June 8, 1969.
The Nordins served a two-year internship on a volunteer-program in Port Moresby, Papua, New Guinea, working with a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Guinea. During that time Mrs. Nordin, a graduate of St. Olaf College, Northfield, Mn, taught nursing at the Papuan Medical College.
