Piller, Opal E. (Clarkson) (15 JUL 1917 - 8 MAY 2007)

Opal E. Piller, 89, Medford, died Tuesday, May 8 at Memorial Nursing Home where she had resided the past 4 1/2 years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, with Father Frederick J. Brost officiating.

Burial will be at Stetsonville Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Dennis Laffan Jr., Edward and Alan Piller, Mike and Jeff Raiche and Jason and Jim Jochimsen.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with a 7 p.m. Catholic prayer service, and at the church on Friday from noon until the time of service.

She was born July 15, 1917, in Indiana to Charles and Tressie (Ridge) Clarkson. She married Theodore C. Piller on May 14, 1938, and he preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1986. She and her husband farmed in the town of Deer Creek and she worked as an aide for 23 years at Memorial Hospital in Medford.

Surviving are her daughters, Jane "Punkie" Laffan, Medford, Kathy (Jud) Hauser, Mitchell, S.D., Connie (Jack) Behrendt, Maple Plain, Minn., Lana (Jack) Raiche, Mound, Minn., Sandy (Dale) Jochimsen, Medford; three sons, David (Leona) Piller, Stetsonville, Don Piller, Rib Lake and Jeff (Sharon) Piller, Granton; 23 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
