Hatlestad, Stella G. (Petersen) (3 OCT 1906 - 7 MAY 2007)

Stella G. Hatlestad, 100, Medford, died Monday, May 7 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital where she had been a patient for the past week.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway, with Rev. Kris Bjerke-Ulliman officiating. Burial will be at Our Saviours Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Holway.

Pallbearers are Karin and Jon Fry, Tim and Tina Gilbert, Julie and Mario Duwe and Heather Hatlestad.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

Stella was born Oct. 3, 1906, at Ringstad, Iowa, to Peter W. and Mary (Lennett) Petersen.

She married Joseph W. Hatlestad on June 19, 1943, at Minneapolis, Minn. The Hatlestads farmed in the town of Holway for many years. Stella also taught elementary education in the Westboro, Curtiss, Little Black and most recently Owen schools until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Hatlestad of Medford; children, Paul (Patricia) Hatlestad of Wausau, and Phil (Ranae) Hatlestad of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Alice Mathieu of Roseville, Minn.; and two brothers, Harold Petersen of Hampton, Va., and Roger (Marty) Petersen of Greeley, Colo.
