Dobiesz, Frances (1889 – 28 SEP 1967)

Thursday, Sept. 26th, 1967, marked the passing of another of Clark County's pioneers. Mrs. Frances Dobiesz died suddenly at the Clark County Hospital, where she had resided for 26? years.

Frances Dobiesz, nee Klak, was born in Philadelphia, Pa., where she spent her early childhood. She, her parents, the Ignatz Klaks, and young family moved to a farm north of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), where she spent most of her life. She married Frank Dobiesz on Sept. 25th, 1912, who preceded her in death in Feb. 1962. To this union 3 daughters were born, who mourn her passing They are: Sister M. Frances Regis, O.S.F., Streator, Ill., Mrs. Edward (Frances) Rygiel, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Bernard (Harriet) Smith, Austin, Minnesota. She was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig's Parish, was very active in parish affairs and a member of the Rosary Society, Z.N.P., and Third Order of St. Francis. Her acute interest in her parish remained with her to her death bed.

She also leaves 2 sisters, Harriet, Winnetka, Ill., and Mrs. Helen Wargolet, Milwaukee, Wis., and 6 brothers, Joseph, Chicago, Ill., George, San Jose, Calif., Michael, Anchorage, Alaska, Nick, Milan, Mich., Al, Chicago, Ill., and Walter, Cudahy; and 3 granddaughters and 5 grandsons. Three brothers preceded her in death. They are Stanley, Anthony and John.

A void left by a passing of one so well known in the community and so loved by her husband is never filled. One can only find comfort in the Will of God and the knowledge of her love of God and respect and charity toward her fellow man.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 2nd at 10:00 a.m. from the Thorp Funeral Home, then to St. Hedwig's Church, Father Edward Masalewicz officiating.

Pallbearers were: Stanley Rygiel, Paul Cukla, Peter Tomkowiak, Ignatz Przybylski, Tom Polnaszek, Stanley Rygiel, Mike Kaminski.
