Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Sturgeon Bay for Mrs. Gunda Simpson, 86, Sturgeon Bay, a former resident of the town of Hoard. Mrs. Simpson died May 3 at Milwaukee, following a lingering illness. Burial was in the family plot at Sturgeon Bay.

Mrs. Simpson was born Gunda Thompson October 31, 1880, in the town of Hoard. She was educated in Colby public schools and graduated from Colby high school. Her marriage to Dr. J. E. Simpson took place in August, 1905. Prior to her marriage she taught in the Curtiss school. Mrs. Simpson had been a Sturgeon Bay resident for the past 20 years. Mr. Simpson died in 1934. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Eastern Star.

Surviving are one son, John, Detroit, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. William (Gladys) Adams, Milwaukee and Mrs. John (Dorothy) Wanless, San Diego, Calif.; one brother Arthur Thompson, Curtiss, and three sisters, Mrs. F. H. Matthias and Mrs. E. M. Erickson both of Curtiss, and Mrs. Ida Peterson of Snohomish, Wash.

Attending services for Mrs. Simpson from the Curtiss area were Mrs. F. H. Matthias, Mrs. E. M. Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thompson, and Ralph Peterson.
