Funeral services for Mrs. Frieda Uhlig, 87, were held Sunday afternoon at the Polnaszek Funeral Home in Abbotsford. The Rev. Lillian Jensen of the Christian Assembly of God church officiated and burial took place in the Pine Hill cemetery at Curtiss.

Mrs. Uhlig died at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 9, at the home of her son, George, Pittsville.

Pallbearers were Alfred, Robert, Delbert, Norbert, Wilbert and Gerald Uhlig.

Mrs. Dorothy Neuman sang “Rock of Ages” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. James Daellenbach.

The former Frieda Teichert was born August 30, 1878, in German, and at the age of 18 came to the United States. Her marriage to Gust Uhlig took place March 27, 1901, at Colby. Her husband preceded her in death.

They farmed in the town of Hull and also in the Dorchester area until 20 years ago when they came to Abbotsford.

Survivors are four sons, William, Colby, George, Pittsville, Alvin, Abbotsford, and Emil, Dorchester; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Boehm, residing at the Bethel Convalescent Center; 22 grand children and 46 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and a sister.

Relatives attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. George Uhlig and Mrs. Dale Wagner, Pittsville; Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Uhlig, Menasha; Mrs. Tom Waling, Grygla, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. William Uhlig and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Uhlig and family, Mrs. Elsie Herrmann and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Herrmann, Colby; Miss Anita and John Uhlig, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller, West Allis; Gerald Uhlig, Sturtevant; Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Hartl and family, Onalaska; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Uhlig, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hartl Sr., Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Abel and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Auberson, Miss Clara Uhlig, Mr. and Mrs. Eldor Schallock, Mr. and Mrs. George Becker, and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Roder, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Klemetson, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Klemetson, Mrs. Morris Klemetson and Mrs. Glenn Schwandt of Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Uhlig, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Uhlig and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Uhlig and family, Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Strom and family, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Uhlig and son and Mr. and Mrs. Herb Neuhaus, Abbotsford, and many friends and neighbors from the Abbotsford area.

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Uhlig of Dorchester were unable to attend as they had just gone to Phoenix, Ariz., to visit their daughter and family.

The only surviving sister resides at the Marshfield Convalescent Center and was unable to attend. She is Mrs. Minnie Boehm.
