Hinker, Frances E. (22 December 1889 - 4 May 1973)

Mrs. Frances E. Hinker, 83, of Greenwood died Friday in the Marshfield Convalescent Center. Funeral services were held Monday from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Leander Koopman officiated. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Hinker the former Frances E. Einch, daughter of Theodore and Ann (Mess) Einch, was born December 22, 1889, in Ossian, Ia. She was married at Festina, Ia., September 10, 1920, to Edward B. Hinker, who died in 1949. After their marriage they lived at Ossian, until coming to Greenwood in 1913. They settled on a farm 1½ miles southeast of here and resided there until 1936, when they moved into the city of Greenwood. Mrs. Hinker fractured her hip three years ago and had been a resident of the Convalescent Center since June 19, 1970.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, St. Ann’s society, a Gold Star mother and was an honorary member of the American Legion auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Gregg (Edna) Hinker of Ossian, Ia., two sons, Marcellus of Effingham, Ill., and Cletus Hinker of Burbank, Ill., and by 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
