McNeely, Theresa Marie (Marriage - 24 March 1973)

Miss Theresa Marie McNeeley became the bride of Lynn David Smith Saturday afternoon, March 24, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. The Norbert E. King officiated at the ceremony joining the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray McNeely and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith. Both couples are of Loyal.

The bride’s gown of re-embroidered lace and angelskin peau with detachable chapel train was styled with a molded bodice featuring a scalloped, mandarin collar of lace and lace bishop sleeves. Her mantilla train veil was secured to a Camelot headpiece of re-embroidered lace and was bordered with matching lace. She carried a cascade of white Jack Frost roses, gypsophila and stephanotis entwined in ivy as she was presented in marriage by her father.

Bridal attendants were Mrs. Irene Nowak, Wausau, as matron of honor, and Miss Ann McNeely and Miss Kathy McNeely, both of Loyal, as bridesmaids. Their blue, yellow and green nylon flower-print skirts with ruffled hemlines were topped by solid-color polyester organza bodices featuring baby doll sleeves. Pearl-trimmed Camelot headpieces and clutch bouquets of white roses, yellow daisies, pink carnation, but cornflowers and baby’s breath with matching streamers completed their ensembles.

The groom’s attendants wore ruffled shirts to match the bridesmaids’ gowns. Lee Smith, Loyal, served as bestman. Groomsmen were Dale Zimmerman, Rockford, Ill., and Jeffrey McNeely, Menomonie. Sharing the ushering duties were Dan McNeely and Dean Smith, both of Loyal.

The bride chose “Theme from Love Story” as her processional march and “Wedding Song” for the communion hymn. Vocalists were Sharon Schoonover, Dianne Anderegg and Judy Zettler, with Miss Zettler as guitar and Jody Schoonover as organ accompanists.

Mrs. Richard Korn accompanied St. Anthony’s choir under the direction of William Theisen.

A wedding dinner at St. Anthony’s Hall was followed by a reception at the Spencer municipal hall.

The new Mrs. Smith is a 1971 graduate of Loyal High School and has been employed in Marshfield. Her husband, a 1968 graduate of the same school, is engaged in farming. The newlyweds will live on Rt. 1 Loyal, upon their return from a wedding trip through the southern states.
