Zimmerman, Maude (18 October 1892 - 13 February 1973)

Mrs. Maude Zimmerman, 80, of Humbird, died February 13 at the heritage Nursing home in Black River Falls. Funeral services were held February 16 at the Humbird Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Zimmerman’s grandson, Wayne Garman, Jr., officiating. Burial was made in the Mentor Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Jensen Funeral Home at Hixton.

Mrs. Zimmerman, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel (Annie) Townsend, was born October 18, 1892, in Grant County. She spent most of her childhood in the North Branch area. Her marriage to Edwin Zimmerman took place December 16, 1914. The couple lived in the Avon area for many years and then moved to Humbird, where she spent the remainder of her life.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Leona) Morgan of Sparta, Mrs. Dorothy Garman of Eau Claire and Mrs. Homer (Pearl) Rhoades of Dearborn, Mi. There are eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Floyd Townsend of Bloomingdale, Mi., and Roland Townsend of Mesa, Az.; and by one sister, Mrs. Hazel Dunn of Black River Falls.

Pallbearers were: Dewey Lang, Lester Buttke, Jim Trachsel, Donald Zerbel, Lawrence Buttke and Kally Theiler. Vocalists were Alice Gearing and Mary Ann Johnson. Edith Smith was the organist.
