Gaier, Charles P. (16 January 1892 - 19 January 1973)

Charles P. Gaier, 81, of Rt. 1, Granton, died January 19 in Neillsville. Funeral services were held Monday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles D. Brady officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery. A general rosary service was held Sunday evening from the Georgas Funeral Home, where the body of Mr. Gaier was in state.

Charles Gaier, the son of Frank and Anna (Bright) Gaier, was born January 16, 1892, in Austria and was educated there and in the United States, coming here at the age of eight years. His marriage to the former Regina Bloomer took place January 28, 1918, in Marshfield. Mr. Gaier worked for the Roddis Plywood Manufacturing Company and at the Wood County Experimental Farm, at Marshfield, and did farming and construction work in later years. He retired in 1963.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five children, Mrs. Dale (Charlotte) Hake, LaVern Gaier and Harold Gaier of Neillsville, Jerome Gaier of Marshfield and Gerald Gaier of Black River Falls; one brother, Frank Gaier of Marshfield; and 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
