Mews, Brad L. (4 FEB 1983 – 21 AUG 2014)

Brad L. Mews, 31, Loyal, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Loyal United Methodist Church. Rev. Patsy Roe officiated. Burial followed in the Loyal City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ryan Smith, Steve Banks, Brandon Lucht, Jimmy Plaskey, Louie Plaskey, Eric Pagenkopf and Cody Olson. Honorary pallbearers were Travis Mews, Mark Mews, Kyle Krasselt, Steve Plaskey, Jesse Rueth and Aaron Rueth.

Brad Lee Mews was born on Feb. 4, 1983, in Neillsville, to Karen Jean (nee Plaskey) and Ricky Lee Mews. He was raised and received his education in Loyal, graduating from Loyal High School in 2001. While in high school, Brad worked at Mike's Tire Service and for SF Transport in Loyal. After graduating from high school, he continued to work at Mike's Tire and worked nights at Abbyland in Abbotsford. He then worked four years at Northside Elevator in Loyal, delivering bag feed. Brad was currently employed as a mechanic/painter for Wuethrich Transportation/Grassland Dairy Products and worked for his parents' business, R.K.I., as a mechanic and driver. He had many interests, but loved spending time with his boys, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycle and snowmobile, boating, 4-wheeling and trapshooting. Brad was a member of Loyal United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Loyal Sportsmans Club, where he currently served on the board.

He will be dearly missed by his two sons, Lorin and Landon Mews, and their mother, Michelle Redig, Neillsville; his parents, Rick and Karen Mews, Loyal; three sisters, Tara (Mike) Nelson, Oak Creek, Bobi (Catrell Williams) Mews, Neenah, and Cari (Eric Fryman) Mews, Greenwood; his grandmothers, Dolores Mews, Wisconsin Rapids, and Norma Plaskey, Marshallville, Ohio; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Brad was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harvey Mews Sr. and James Plaskey; and one cousin, Ehren Boeger.
