Mrs. Elsie Elvira Francen, 74, of Unity died at 1:45 p.m. Monday July 25, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, July 28, at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby. The Rev. Robert Sutherland will officiate, and burial will be in the Colby Memorial cemetery.

Mrs. Francen was born Elsie Carlson Feb. 27, 1892, at Staples, Minn. Her family moved to the Unity area when she was a young girl, then moved to Fergus Falls in 1909. Her marriage to Herman Francen took place on Sept. 22, 1925, and the couple moved to Unity, where they had lived since.

Surviving, in addition to Mr. Francen, are one brother, Henry Carlson, Fergus Falls, and two sisters, Helen Carlson, Breckenridge, Minn., and Mrs. Helda Bredeson, Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by one brother.
