Mrs. Ray Knutson spent the weekend at La Crosse.

Durward Schwarze was an over Sunday visitor at Madison.

Carl Chandler of Blanchardville called on friends here Friday.

E.S. Ellingson and family moved last week into the Frank Zetsche residence.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neff and children of Neillsville spent Sunday at the Ed Buker home.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman and two sons of Neillsville spent Sunday at the Louis Arbs home.

Mrs. H.M. Pratt entertained the members of the Merry-go-round Club at her home last eveing.

Mr. and Mrs. E.N. Paul and daughter Eunice of Dodgeville arrived Friday for a visit with friends.

Rev. Gerald Schuh attended the funeral of Msgr. Kremer, Vicar General of the La Crosse Diocese at La Cross one Tuesday.

Grover Noetzel, who teaches at the University in Madison, spent the weekend here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Noetzel.

Kenneth Borham, who is attending Business College at Wausau, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Borham.

Mr. and Mrs. Aug. de Kennen of Milwaukee are spending the week at the home of Mrs. De Kennen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Quast.

Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Noetzel were at Merrillan Sunday.

S. Plank and son James were visitors at Durand Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Barr of Neillsville spent the weekend at the A.C. Barr home.

Mrs. E. Buker will entertain the members of the Schafskopf club at her home this evening.

George Haeuser and son Garth left Saturday and spent until Wednesday at the World's Fair in Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Mr. and Mrs. John Syth attended a football game at Chippewa Sunday.

Mrs. Henry Neuman and daughter Betty, and Miss Janice Starr of Loyal visited Saturday at the Geo. Haeuser home.

Wm. C. Steiger, A.C. Buker, H.L. Corey and E.N. Paul spent the weekend in the northern party of the state on a fishing trip.

Mrs. R.L. Appleford of Austin, Wash. is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hendrickson and other relatives and friends.

Miss Rue Cummings returned home from Stevens Point Monday, after spending the past months at the Carol Behrens home there.

Mrs. Mathilda Fahey moved this week into rooms in the Henry Stabnow residence, formerly occupied by the John Meng family.

Mrs. Bethel Schwarze arrived Sunday from Maidson and will make her future home here in the residence known as the Barkley place.

Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Rosen, Miss Edna Jestrom and Everett Kolstad of Sioux Falls, S.D., are spending the week visiting at the Emil Kolstad home.

George Speich, Clarence Moberg, Billie Rellis and Ralph Macknic took in the World Series ball games held at St. Louis Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Seventeen members of the local R.N.A. Lodge attended the Royal Neighbor convention at Neillsville last Thursday and in the evening put on initiatory work.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Flatz and Delmain spent Sunday at Bear Lake.

George Haeuser was a business caller at Neillsville last Thursday.

Mrs. Geo. Speich and son Kenneth spent Saturday and Sunday with relatives at Unity.

Howard Welsh of New York City spent Tuesday at the Harold Stabnow and Carl Keiner homes.

Mrs. Emery Mead submitted to a surgical operation at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls, last Friday.

Miss Mildred Plank of Durand spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Plank.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Prein of Riplinger were Sunday guests at the H.W. Stabnow home.

Mr. and Mrs. Linus Prock and family of Globe and Hugo Quast of Willard spent Sunday at the Jos. Quast home.

A rutabaga weighing 22 pounds is on display at the Formers & Merchants Banks. It was grown by Frank Volk of Willard.

Mr. and Mrs. Christ Keiner and daughters Frieda and Louise visited with friends and relatives at Athens Sunday.

Harold Borham and Misses Eleanor Krieg and Frances Schiller took Kenneth Borham to Wausau Sunday evening.

Dr. and Mrs. R.L. Barnes and two daughters, Marion and Joan, spent a few days over the weekend with relatives and friends at Cresco, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Myrle Hales and daughter of Neillsville spent Sunday at the Geo. Haeuser home. Mrs. Hales remained until Wednesday.
