Services were held Saturday, April 23, at the First United Church of Christ for Mrs. Anna Wiedenhoeft, 84, who died on Tuesday, April 19, 1966.

The Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated and burial was made in the Colby Memorial cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were handled by Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Pallbearers were Edgar Laux, Otto Braun, Elmore Dehne, Richard Herrmann, Edward Herrmann and Alvin Schmidt.

Mrs. Carol Duvall, accompanied by Mary Vorland on the organ, sang “Asleep in Jesus”, in addition to a selection, “Our God, Our Help In Ages Past”, sung by the congregation.

Mrs. Wiedenhoeft was born Anna Plutte on Aug. 29, 1881, in the town of Green Grove, and was a resident of this area her entire life.  Her marriage to Herman Wiedenhoeft, who died in 1960, took place Aug. 27, 1903, at Green Grove.  The couple built the Colby park in 1914, and operated it until retiring in 1944.  Mrs. Wiedenhoeft was a member of the First United Church of Christ and its Ladies’ Aid.

Surviving are two sons, Clarence Wiedenhoeft, Cable and Alvin, Colby; one daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Goldie) Walters, Chippewa Falls; one brother, William Plutte, Colby; four grand children, and one great grand child.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.

Among those from out of town attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wiedenhoeft, Cable, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Walter, Chippewa Falls, William Wiedenhoeft and Miss Lois Carlson, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bloom, Mrs. Minnie Klub, Mrs. Mary Zahn and Fred Bloom, Brownsville, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walter and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brumbaugh, Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Franklyn Kraut, Mr. and Mrs. William Plutte, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Meyer Jr. and Mrs. Herbert Meyer Sr., Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wiedenhoeft and Woodrow Wiedenhoeft, Colby, Miss Viola Spann, Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Franz, Mrs. Albert Wiedenhoeft and Gilbert Wiedenhoeft of Unity, Mrs. Mildred Pauls, Schofield, and many other relatives and friends from Colby, Abbotsford and the surrounding communities.
