------ Viergutz, Rose Marie (07 AUG 1965)

In a 2 p.m. ceremony performed by Rev. Harold Woodworth at Zion Lutheran church in Colby on Saturday, Aug 7, Miss Rose Marie Viergutz became the bride of Robert R. Denzin.  The church was decorated with two bouquets of gladiolus.  Mrs. Howard Rannow was the organist as Miss Jerrie Radl of Oshkosh sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Take Me O’Lord”.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Viergutz of Colby are the parents of the bride and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Denzin of Abbotsford.

Attendants of the bridal couple were Miss Janet Viergutz, sister of the bride, and Roger Denzin, brother of the groom, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Reihle, Mr. and Mrs. William Horner, Miss Koni Weiler, all friends of the couple, Steve Custer, cousin of the bride, Miss Debbie Denzin, sister of the groom, and Miss Susan Viergutz, sister of the bride.

The bride chose a floor-length white nylon organza over taffeta gown for her wedding day.  The fitted front panel was appliqued with roses and the bouffant back had four V-shaped tiers which formed the train.  A head-piece of nylon organza pearl studded petals caught the sheer finger-tip veil.  She carried a white orchid on a Bible with ivy and white gladiolus.

Her attendants wore ankle-length Nile green acetate dresses which featured scoop necklines and empire waistline, and elbow-length sleeves.  The dress backs featured back panels with straight skirts.  The two junior bridesmaids wore emerald green nylon chiffon over taffeta.  The senior bridesmaids carried baskets of white gladioli and white and pink pomps and the junior bridesmaids carried baskets of white and yellow pomps.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.  Supper was served at the Zion Lutheran parish, and a wedding dance was held in the evening at Trianon Ballroom.

The bride was employed as a clerk-typist in Milwaukee before her marriage.  The groom is in the US army and is stationed in Georgia and the couple will make their home at Forest Park, Ga.

The 250 guests at the wedding came from Milwaukee, Waupun, Fond du Lac, Abbotsford, Edgar, Athens, Fenwood, Marshfield, Tomahawk, Oshkosh, Chicago, Ill., and St. Louis, Mo.
