Kubaskie, Stephen Frank (6 December 1886 - 8 April 1972)

Funeral services for Stephen Frank Kubaskie, age 85, of Humbird, who died April 8 at Black River Memorial Hospital, were held Tuesday, April 11 at 1:30 p.m. from the Humbird United Church of Christ. The Rev. Harold Kirkpatrick officiated and burial was made in the Mentor Cemetery at Humbird. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kubaskie, the son of Mathewes and Antonia (Bodc) Kubaskie, was born December 6, 1886, in the Town of Mentor and was educated there. He lived and farmed in the Humbird area throughout his lifetime. His marriage to the former Lula Stevens took place July 3, 1923, at Neillsville.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two children, Mrs. Arthur (Bernice) McLeod of Eau Claire and Edwin Kubaskie of Humbird; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Arnold Stevens, Wilmar Summerfield, Ralph Mitchell, Earl Zimmerman, Ed Mashin and Ellis Williams. “How Great Thou Art” and “Whispering Hope” were sung by Mrs. James Trachsel and Mrs. Kally Theiler. Mrs. Glen Stuve was the accompanist.

Those from out of town who attended the services included Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierce of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mitchell of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Aldinger of Merrillan, Mr and Mrs. Marvin Tempski of Milwaukee, the Rev. Gary Clark of Whitehall, Mr. and Mrs. Willmar Sommerfield of Mazeppa, Mn, Mrs. Mamie Ivanish of Malta, Mt, Mrs. Eli Kaneff of Great Falls, Mt. and Archie Stevens, Rachel Shones and Arnold Stevens, all of Millville, Mn.
