Hanne, Irene A. (Syring) (28 OCT 1920 - 14 MAR 2014)

Irene A. Hanne, age 93, of Colby, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014, at the Colonial Center in Colby.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. The Rev. Mark Neumann will officiate. Burial will be held in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 AM until time of services Thursday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.

Irene was born on October 28, 1920, in the Town of Frankfort, Marathon County, the daughter of Herman and Hattie (Totsch) Syring. She attended Fairchild School in the Town of Frankfort.

On December 27, 1941, Irene was united in marriage to Harold F.E. Hanne at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Wein, Marathon County. Together they farmed in the Town of Hull for 26 years and sold the farm in 1966. They moved to Colby and she worked at Land O’ Lakes in Spencer for 17 years. After retirement, they sold the house and moved to the Green Vista Apartments in Abbotsford. Irene entered the Colonial Center Nursing Home in Colby in 2005.

Irene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Irene showed the love for her family and her generosity. She enjoyed making family meals, as well as crafting, crocheting and beading. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.

Irene is survived by her son; Arlyn (Judy) Hanne of Weston, her brother; Rueben (Arabella) Syring of Edgar, her sister-in-law; Ellen Syring of Marshfield, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Harold Hanne, her brother; Clarence Syring and her sisters; Milda Ramker and Verna Thede.
